I would welcome any information about this doorstop. I think it might have been made in a Scottish brickworks in the 19thc as these often had a sideline in rather rough wares such as garden furniture and chimney pots. It looks like it was painted black with oil paint rather than glazed and also blackened using "blacking" the substance used in Victorian households to polish cast iron fenders and stoves.
