Once again I ask for help as I reveal the depths of my ignorance. I like this, but I'm not even sure what I have here. I was told it was used as a base for a gazing ball, which may well be, but a friend suggested it could be a birdbath base.... It is about 20 1/2" tall. I don't know anything about it's age, and I don't see any maker's name. Lending some support to the bird bath theory is the bird motif on the bottom of the base (see second photo) . Any insights greatly appreciated. TIA!
